How to Design Your Bedroom Closet

Do you have a messy bedroom and need some room to move? Is it starting to show in your personal relationships and you just don’t feel comfortable dealing with the mess anymore? There is hope. Bedroom organization ideas are simple and can really help you get back on track in your bedroom.

The first thing you need to do is clean up the bedroom. You will need to clean it by getting rid of all the things that you don’t use or that you haven’t used in a long time. These things should either be donated to charity or put in a storage unit where they will be out of sight and out of mind for a while. You may also choose to sell anything that you don’t need, such as second hand books or electronics, to reduce your current debts. This is also a good way to start off organizing your bed closet.

If you are getting a new bed, look for a model that has storage compartments built in the sides of the bed. That way you won’t have to worry about finding a place to store your wedding in your new room. Don’t forget the extra space that you can use to organize other things like your shoes or other clothes. A bonus space that comes with a bed closet can double as an end table, if not used for storing clothes.

After cleaning up the bedroom, you may want to consider buying new bedding for your bed. If you already have bedding that you haven’t worn, consider donating it or selling it. You may find that you still love your old bedding so it is worth it to buy a new set. If you decide to keep your bedding, make sure that you keep the tags that identify the pieces with your name, address and phone number.

Next, you will need to gather all the items that you want to use for your new bed. Put everything in plastic containers and label each one “Furniture Wanted”. This should include any such items as dressers, chests, nightstands, mirrors or picture frames that you no longer need. You can also include boxes that list their contents. You may also want to put a line through the bottom of the box stating that it is furniture only.

You may also want to create a list of things that you plan to change into your room as you modify your bedding and other furnishings. Add any decorative pillows, blankets or quilts to your room and any furniture pieces that you want to preserve as you transform your room. For example, if you love throws but have had your old wool couch changed to a soft fabric, add a throw to your room that you love. By maintaining these few items, you will keep your transformation project simple and enjoyable.

As you do this, take stock of your wardrobe, pantry and closet to make sure you have everything you will need in your new bedroom. If you are changing a chest that is several feet tall, you may need to reorganize your closet space. You can remove some items from your wardrobe until you have an adequate amount of room in your bed room.

Finally, arrange your furnishings in the order in which you would like them to be arranged in your room. Make room on your bed for your bed and dresser. Lay down your nightstand and place it where it will be easily accessible. If you are using a chest, you will want to place it close to the bed so that it is accessible from the bed. If you are using a daybed, lay it flat against the wall so that you have an easy, flat surface upon which to sit. Following these simple directions, you will transform your bedroom without spending much money.
