How to Deep Clean Your New Home

When moving into your new place, you should consider a few aspects of cleanliness that will make your new place look as good as new. You should be taking good care of all surfaces to keep them from becoming breeding grounds for mildew and mold. You also need to keep your floors clean so they will not have stains and odors.

Most people think that they can take care of their new place by buying commercial cleaning products that are available at grocery stores and department stores. But that is not really necessary since the surfaces of your home already have the ability to absorb various materials. So it is best to leave the cleaning of surfaces to professionals.

As mentioned earlier, many people who buy new homes have problems with dust and dampness. This is especially true during the first few months when you have just moved in. The first thing you should do is install air conditioners in the rooms that you will be using the most. The cool air will help you minimize the amount of dust that will accumulate in your new home. However, if there are condensation issues that you are having, it is best to call a professional cleaner for help. You can get rid of the problem easily.

In fact, another common problem that most people face is with dirt and stains on their carpets and other surfaces. This can happen if you are moving in during the spring or summer when it is very hot. Odors can also be caused by diseases that have been brewing in the area like the flu season. So in order to prevent these from affecting your new home, you should make sure that your house is properly disinfected from the very beginning. You should start with vacuuming every corner of your house, especially the high traffic areas.

Aside from keeping your house clean, you should also have your surfaces disinfected as soon as possible. Start with your faucets, washing them daily with disinfectant solutions. You should also wipe down sinks and counter tops with disinfecting wipes in order to prevent the spread of the pandemic. Another good idea to do is to use an alcohol-based cleaner for your bathroom and kitchen. This is very helpful in killing germs that can potentially cause the pandemic to spread.

If you are concerned about the dark stains on your walls, you can use a stain remover to remove them. However, you need to be careful to only use the right kind of remover. While regular household cleaners can work on paper and fabrics, they can’t be used on vinyl or wood surfaces that are susceptible to infection. Therefore, you should invest in a good quality disinfecting solution that you can spray on affected areas and wipe away immediately after use.

As mentioned before, one of the main areas where you can spread the disease is through the light switches in your home. Many people are unaware that they leave their light switches on all night long. In fact, some people may leave their light switches on throughout the entire day without even realizing that they are exposing themselves to the risk of contracting the flu or other contagious diseases. To make sure that you are protecting yourself from infection, switch off your lights when you are not home for a week or more.

As mentioned earlier, one of the high-traffic areas in your new home is the kitchen. High-traffic areas like the kitchen table and counter tops are commonly where the hands of possible victims walk through upon entry into your home. Therefore, you should pay special attention to cleaning these areas. Use a disinfectant solution on all surfaces that you can, including your cutting boards, cutting knives, scissor blades and microwave ovens.
